31 March 2021
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the committee have made some slight alterations to the eligibility rules for this golfing year. These changes affect the knockout competitions as well as the honour boards for the first part of the year.
Knockout eligibility: So, we do not have to worry about different circumstances surrounding coronavirus, the eligibility period will run from 19 September 2019 until 15 March 2020 (the last date competition golf was played prior to National Lockdown). The decision has been made to extend the eligibility window to 6 months so we can include as many people as possible during this very difficult time.
Honour board eligibility: We will be judging honour board eligibility on the same terms as above until 29 June (we will have been playing golf for 3 months by this date). Any new members will have to go through the same process as usual (54 holes to obtain a handicap followed by 6 competition cards signed by another member).
New members in 2020: Any member who joined Birchwood Park after June 2020 will be judged from 1 July until 31 December for eligibility for honour boards (the same time frame of 6 months as existing members).
If you have any questions or would like more information about the above, please contact Connor Wood or another member of the main committee.
